What would happen if you didn’t watch the news?
Well, you might not know what’s going on in the world. But would that be so bad? Imagine not knowing about a recession or global dangers. Wouldn’t it actually be nice—and even beneficial—to live in your own bubble?

The Impact of Fear
What prevents most of us from making changes and doing what we truly want? Fear! And where does fear come from? Yes, you’ve guessed it! Fear comes from being bombarded daily by news that the world is a scary place. It tells us not to travel alone, to stay in jobs because there are no others, and to avoid spending our money.

Creating a Different Reality
Personally, I haven’t watched TV or the news for over two years. In my bubble, the recession and world dangers didn’t exist, and to be honest, it was really rather nice! During this time, I was promoted, headhunted by several companies, traveled the world alone, and even set up my own business and wrote a book. I’m not writing this to show off but to open you to possibilities. What could you accomplish in your world if you were free from fear? What have you always wanted to do but been too scared to try? Starting your own business? Traveling solo? Moving to a new country? Telling your boss how you really feel?

If you want something, look to those who have achieved it, and model or copy their approach. No one is inherently better than anyone else.

Building a Fear-Free World
If you remove yourself from the world of constant news, you create space to build your own world, full of possibilities. You’ll find time to learn from people who live without fear and join the ranks of those who have made bold choices.

The Secret of Successful People
Interview successful people, and you’ll find that most create their own mini-worlds, unaffected by media and negative news. They believe anything is possible. In her book, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, Susan Jeffers reminds us to acknowledge fear, understand it’s likely unwarranted, and then move forward to achieve what we desire.
